Ikram Ahmed Integrative Psychotherapist

Therapy, Listening & Care

At The Lighthouse Counsellor, I offer Therapy, Listening & Care (TLC) within a safe, steady, non-judgemental and culturally sensitive environment.

I understand that our experiences are shaped by the relationships we have, the families and communities we grow up in, our culture and beliefs, and the experiences that have shaped our lives. These influences can affect how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we navigate life's challenges.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I recognise that no two people are the same. Rather than applying one approach to everyone, I tailor the therapy to you, your experiences and what you need from the therapeutic relationship. My aim is to create a space where your story can be heard and explored with compassion, honesty, and without judgement.

Take the first step

Free 20-Minute Introductory Call

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, especially if you're not sure what to expect.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call before you decide whether therapy feels right for you.

It's simply an opportunity to have a conversation, tell me a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work.

There's no pressure or obligation to continue. Finding the right therapist and feeling comfortable with the person you work with is important.

About me

Meet Ikram

My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began long before I entered a counselling training room.

I come from a working-class background, where I grew up with the values of hard work, humility, family and looking out for others. For over 20 years, I worked within my family's catering business, Al-Noor House. Throughout those years, I had the privilege of meeting and connecting with people from all walks of life. Being part of a community-focused business taught me that behind every conversation, smile and interaction, there is often a story that remains unseen.

Anxiety, Stress & Overthinking

Creating space to understand what may be behind anxiety, worry, pressure and overthinking, while developing greater awareness of thoughts, emotions and responses.

Men's Emotional Wellbeing
