My Approach

The Relationship Comes First

At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy begins with the relationship.

Before exploring particular issues or therapeutic approaches, I want you to feel listened to, respected and accepted for who you are. Building a relationship based on trust, openness, safety, and collaboration provides a foundation from which we can begin to explore what has brought you to therapy.

I draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives, including person-centred, relational, attachment-informed, psychodynamic, and existential approaches. These different perspectives allow me to adapt to the work as our therapeutic relationship develops, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model.

Together, we can explore your experiences, relationships, identity, culture, faith and emotional wellbeing at a pace that feels right for you.

What I Can Support You With

Therapy can provide a space to explore a wide range of experiences and challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, stress and overthinking
  • Low mood and emotional difficulties
  • Self-esteem, self-worth and self-acceptance
  • Relationships, family dynamics and boundaries
  • Attachment and recurring relationship patterns
  • Trauma and difficult or overwhelming experiences
  • Identity, culture and belonging
  • Faith, spirituality and personal values
  • Shame, stigma and fear of judgement
  • Men's emotional wellbeing
  • Life transitions, change and uncertainty
  • Understanding and connecting with your emotions

These are not problems that need to be placed into a particular box. Sometimes you may not even know exactly what is troubling you — and that's okay. Therapy can be a place to begin making sense of what you're experiencing.

Finding Your Own Direction

My role is not to tell you which direction to take or to give you all the answers.

Like a lighthouse, I aim to provide a safe and steady point of support and understanding while you explore your own path.

Through therapy, I hope to support you in developing greater self-awareness, understanding your experiences, recognising your strengths, and discovering what wellbeing means for you.

You don't have to fit into a particular approach. The therapy can adapt to you.
